Soft Sujud started in a small flat in London, where a young engineer watched his grandfather struggle through every prayer.

Salah had always been the center of his grandfather's life. Five times a day, without fail. But as the years went on, each sujud became harder. The discomfort in his knees grew worse. His grandfather would wince as he lowered himself down, his face tight with strain.

"It's just part of getting older," his grandfather would say, brushing it off.

But that answer didn't sit right.

Our founder, a mechanical engineer by training, started asking questions. Why should something as sacred as prayer cause discomfort? Why should age steal away the ease of connection with Allah? Why wasn't there a better solution?

He spent months researching, testing materials, studying cushioning and pressure distribution. He went through dozens of prototypes, each one tested by his grandfather during salah.

The breakthrough came when he combined advanced cushioning technology with traditional prayer mat design—creating something that looked beautiful but worked like engineering. A sajada that didn't just sit under you, but actually supported your knees during sujud.

His grandfather used the first prototype for a week. Then he said something our founder will never forget: "For the first time in years, I'm not thinking about my knees during sujud. I'm just... praying."

That's when Soft Sujud was born.

Today, we've helped over 50,000 Muslims across the UK pray more comfortably. From young professionals who spend hours in qiyam to elders who thought their days of comfortable prayer were behind them.

We're still a small team. We still answer every email personally. And we're still driven by that same simple belief: no one should have to choose between their knees and their salah.
